Surface Preparation
PALITRO is not a standalone plaster and cannot be used as an independent coating. It is used exclusively as a tinting additive at the mix preparation stage. Note: Lagoon (LA-S and LA-L) is recommended for interior use only due to the chemical nature of its pigments.
Application
1. Measure the required amount of clean water into the container for the decorative mix.
2. While mixing with a low-speed mechanical mixer, add the PALITRO pigments according to the colour recipe. Mix thoroughly until uniform — 2–5 minutes.
3. Add the chosen plaster mix (BOKE, ARHE, VabiO, Homa, etc.) to the pigment solution and mix again thoroughly for at least 5 minutes. Check that pigment is evenly distributed throughout, especially at the bottom of the container.
4. Perform a rub test: apply a small amount of the ready mix to the substrate and rub vigorously with a spatula. If 'comets' (pigment lumps) are visible, mix again and repeat the test.
5. When tinting large volumes, mix 2–3 bags at a time in one large container before application to minimise visible joins on large surfaces.
Warning
WARNING: Always carry out test tinting of a small amount before tinting the full volume to determine colour and ratio precisely. Use scales for accurate measurement. Natural pigments may show slight batch-to-batch colour variation. Final colour may deviate up to ±10% depending on drying conditions, application technique, substrate type, and protective topcoat used. PALITRO pigments are not food colourants. Do not inhale during tinting or when sanding the coating. Store in a tightly sealed container in a dry, cool place away from sunlight — do not allow moisture ingress.
